After breaking new ground by becoming the first Italians MC’s to perform in the Bronx, the cradle of Hip-Hop Culture, and fresh off their performance in Cuba at the 9th Hip-Hop Symposium of Cuba, one of the largest events of its kind in Central and South America, Zero Plastica have shown no signs of letting up. In 2015, they travelled back to the United States to perform at 10th Trinity International Hip Hop Festival, performing alongside the legendary Dj Kool Herc, the Godfather of Hip-Hop, Sudanese-American MC Oddisee, and Canadian super group Nomadic Massive to name a few.

Signed to American indie label Nomadic Wax, Zero Plastica is proud to present its latest release, a collaborative record made between Italy, New York and the rest of the World. Entitled “Global Revolution Mixtape Vol.1", the album, Zero Plastica's 4th, brings the Italian underground hip hop duo together with some of the best emcees around the globe. This project was born thanks to the many travels of Dj Nio and Funky Lure and to the many friends they met in each country and through the internet. From South Africa to Norway, from Australia to Trinidad-Tobago, from Chile to Basque Country, they created a network of revolutionary rappers committed in the fight against racial prejudice and fascism.

"Long before Occupy Wall Street, Italian rappers Zero Plastica gave voice to the plight of the 99% — the messed up economy, political chicanery, organized crime, lack of opportunity and overwhelming odds stacked against regular people. The Genoan rappers have been penning Public Enemy-style lyrics for a decade". – MTV

Merging classic boom bap with world music, electro with reggae vibes and more, Zero Plastica continues to move forward with their own original sound, despite the current trap/house-hop trend that dominates in Italy today. Dj Nio handles the majority of the production, collaborating with a wide variety of musicians to add a special touch to the sound. Other producers who contributed to the “Global Revolution Mixtape” include SubAtomic Sound System (USA), Gaston (Senegal), and Kubus (Holland), to name a few.

The second video from “Global Revolution Mixtape Vol.1” is ‘Mic & Knife Law’and features classic boom bap production by the American master Zaquan and the multi-textured flow of Zero Plastica and the Brooklyn based MC and educator Mikal Amin a.k.a. Hired Gun. The video was shot by Zero Plastica at 5 Pointz aka the Institute of Higher Burnin' in Queens, NYC. The location was considered 'the world’s premier graffiti Mecca,' before it was demolished in 2014.

----------- IF YOU WANT TO HAVE US TO KEEP ON MAKING MUSIC AND IF YOU WANT TO SUPPORT US FOR REAL, PLEASE DONATE 1 EURO OR MORE AFTER YOU DOWNLOADED THE RECORD! IT'S VERY SIMPLE, QUICK AND IMPORTANT FOR US!!! WE'RE INDEPENDENT ARTISTS! WE DON'T HAVE ANY MAJOR LABEL SPONSORS, SO WE HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING BY OUR OWN POCKET (paying the studio, paying for mix and mastering, etc)... And it's always expensive. SO, please support Zero Plastica! ;-)
